6 Things Operators Will Love About New Volvo Excavators

Volvo just launched a new series of excavators, and among the numerous updates are several designed specifically for you operators.

This includes taking our beloved cab and making it even better. The newest models have been revamped to be more spacious and ergonomic so you can stay productive and make the long days fly by.

The goal of these updates is to significantly improve your whole experience, helping operator and machine work as one. And while there are many new features you’ll love, I wanted to call out several of my favorites I think are sure to be talked about on your jobsites:

  1. Keyless engine start: If several of you run the same excavator, you have the ability to quickly start it up using a simple key code, plus you can store multiple operator preference settings so it’s customized for the specific way each of you works.
  2. More work lights for the cab, boom and arm: Some days go long, and some jobs are just done at night. Added lighting in key locations helps make working in the dark easier and safer.

  3. In-cab wireless phone charger: You’ll love the ability to keep your mobile phone charged throughout the day using a wireless charger right next to your seat. No more stress about your battery status.

  4. Built-in cooler/heater compartment: Need to keep things hot or cold? Now you can store your lunch, snacks, drinks and more in a new handy compartment in your cab.

  5. New DEF sight gauges and splash guard: Checking and refilling your diesel exhaust fluid is now easier. These features can help you prevent inadvertently putting DEF in the diesel tank and DEF contamination. And while we’re at it, here are some tips to avoid common problems with DEF if you need some additional advice.
  6. Additional sunscreens: During the long days of summer, don’t let the glare and heat of the sun slow you down. Added sunscreens help make your day a little easier.

If you already run Volvo excavators, I’m confident you’re going to love these new cabs even more than your current ones. If you want to see these features and more up close, be sure to check out our new Volvo excavator product page.
