Volvo Group, the parent company of Volvo Construction Equipment, based in Shippensburg, Pennsylvania, has been named to Forbes and Statista’s seventh annual list of America’s Best Employers for Women.

“We’re proud to be part of the Volvo family and can absolutely vouch for the important voices and ideas that women bring to the table here at Volvo CE,” said Scott Young, Head of Region North America. “We know that diverse teams perform better, and we’re thrilled to be a place where women enjoy working.”

Forbes partnered with market research firm Statista to survey more than 150,000 women working at companies with at least 1,000 employees in the United States. Respondents were asked how likely they were to recommend their current and previous employers, as well as any employers they knew through industry peers, family and friends. Participants were also asked to rate their current employers in areas like working environment, pay equity, parental leave and the handling of incidents related to discrimination. Statista analysts also researched the percentage of women in executive and board positions at each company.

Women currently represent more than 20% of the Volvo CE workforce in the U.S. The United States’ science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) labor force represents 25% of the total U.S. labor force, and about 35% of those workers are women, according to WomenTech Network.

“It’s an honor to work for a company that offers unique opportunities for women, both inside and outside of STEM roles. It's great to see programs and practices that not only promote gender diversity but also create an environment where we can thrive,” said Gina Parti, quality engineer, who has been employed at Volvo CE since 2013.
