From 1997 the C-series wheel loaders were marketed under the Volvo brand and with that the Volvo BM era came to an end.
The Volvo D series wheel loaders were not only revolutionary in terms of their performance, comfort, safety, productivity and lower environmental impact, but also for their styling.
Apart from an even higher standard of comfort, the operator enjoyed improved safety in the form of the ïCare CabÍ with greater all-round visibility, a lower noise level and enhanced comfort, as well as a better man-machine interface.
The greater versatility of the machines also offered the owner the potential of higher profitability. The improved performance of the machines, combined with their lower fuel consumption, contributed to this.
The E-series of wheel loaders offers a number of new features coupled with higher productivity, lower fuel consumption and optimum operator comfort. They are powered by Volvo electronically controlled, low emission engines, EU Step 2, featuring high torque at low engine revs which gives fast response and low fuel consumption.
The intelligent, load-sensing hydraulic system facilitates smoother operation, lower fuel consumption, quicker hydraulics and shorter working cycles even at low engine revs.
Contronic has been given additional functions that increase safety and peace of mind for the operator.
Enhanced powershift tranmission with APS (Volvo Automatic Power Shift), adjusted to match the low rev engines, resulting in fast work cycles.
The new rounded exterior design provides excellent visibility all around the machine while the improved service hatches and platforms result in increased safety and better serviceability.
