Wheel Loaders – Volvo BM

In 1973 the company changed its name to Volvo BM AB and the products were marketed under the Volvo BM brand. In 1977 the company launched a new generation of wheel loaders, the 4000-series. The major change was that the machine now contained significantly more Volvo original parts which resulted in even more efficient machines where the different components interacted perfectly with the conditions of the time. The biggest winner of the 4000-series was the operator. The operator comfort was improved significantly and Volvo started to take its unmistakable place as leader in the operator environment.
In the beginning of the 80's Volvo BM was first in the world with Automatic Power Shift (APS) which was offered in the new 4000-series. APS enures that the loader always works in the correct gear for optimum productivity in all conditions.
