4400 was an articulated wheel loader with power shift transmission, rugged axles with planetary hub reductions, dual brake system with disc brakes and a differetal lock with 100% lock-up on the front axle.
A pressurized, ROPS-approved, cab with effective integrated heating and air condition and large replaceble filters together with the controls within easy reach provided the operator with a good and effective place to work.
The parallel linkage arm system featured high breakout moment in the top position while retaining power in all other positions combined with extremely good parallel movement. The disign of the arm system also afforded the operator excellent forward visibility.
In 1984, a new cab with tilt steering wheel was introduced.
In 1985, asbestos-free brakes were introduced.
