The Volvo BM 616B and 646 were the only excavator-loaders built around a loader chassis. The machines were exeptionally powerful and sturdy machines that could handle much tougher jobs than most conventional machines.
The Volvo BM 616B and 646 gave the choice of 2- or 4-wheel drive, differential lock, large wheels and good weight distribution. All of which gave the machines the qualities for efficient operations in general construction and roads-works plus all trenching and ditching duties.
