By developing new versions with six-wheel drive and larger load capacities and successively a host of other innovative, productivity-boosting features the Volvo articulated hauler has continued to pioneer the further development of this product concept and has maintained world market leadership.The "original" articulated hauler concept was so popular that the different models within the 860 and 861 families had sold more than 11 000 units at the time of their discontinued production in 1986.
