Volvo Construction Equipment (Volvo CE) is pulling out all the stops for ConExpo 2014, the year’s largest construction exhibition held at the Las Vegas Convention Center March 4-8. The company will be showcasing more than 17 innovative products, including a new generation of E-Series excavators, G-Series articulated haulers and H-Series wheel loaders. These new machine ranges not only meet the strict requirements of the new Tier 4 Final/Stage IV emissions legislations, but also improve productivity, efficiency and serviceability. And that’s not all: Volvo CE will be exhibiting the latest ranges of backhoe loaders, motor graders and skid- and tracked-steer loaders in what constitutes a complete renewal of the company’s core product offering.
The latest Tier 4 Final/Stage IV engine technology will take pride of place at the center of the Volvo stand, located in booth 10951 of the North Hall. Visitors will discover how the new engines are not only cleaner than the models they replace, but in most cases also more powerful and energy efficient.
Although those are the highlights, the entire 31,520 ft2 exhibition area demonstrates the company’s commitment to being a total solutions provider, delivering a comprehensive range of products and services that carry each machine through a long and productive life. The machines will be arranged in a series of feature areas – General Purpose Production Equipment, Utility, Road Construction and Customer Solutions – according to customer use and application. These areas demonstrate how Volvo products are designed to work together and will focus on factors such as safety, environmental care, quality of the finished work and total cost of ownership. The P7170 paver – one of the most important machines in the Volvo CE Road division – will no doubt prove a star attraction, as will the latest addition to Volvo CE’s ever-popular concept machine range, which will make its debut at the show.
At the 6,000 ft2 outdoor area (booth 1300 of the Gold Lot) visitors will be able to try their hand at operating a BL60B backhoe loader and an EC55C excavator, with prizes offered for tasks safely and successfully completed in the shortest time. The outdoor booth will also display a wide range of attachments and illustrate the advantages of Volvo CE’s remarketing scheme.
Volvo experts will be on hand in both areas to discuss the latest industry trends and how Volvo products set the standard for productivity, efficiency and safety. With a focus on the total ownership experience, they will be ready to discuss customer support agreements, analysis services, attachments, remanufactured components, Approved Used Equipment and Volvo Financial Services.
The new Volvo CE President, Martin Weissburg, will also host an international press conference, in which he will highlight trading conditions, introduce new products and outline the company’s future plans. The press conference will take place on Wednesday March 5 at 10 am in room N258 of the convention center.
Emphasizing the size, strength and breadth of the Volvo Group, Volvo CE will be joined at ConExpo 2014 by sister companies Volvo Trucks and Mack who will present the latest in construction-focused trucks. The Volvo stand will also feature products and services from Volvo Penta.
Volvo CE comes to the industry’s biggest show next year with the confidence to deliver total customer solutions and arguably the most innovative fleet of products and services on the market. Watch out, Las Vegas – there’s a new attraction in town.
