As part of its ‘total solutions’ offering to customers, Volvo Construction Equipment will showcase its latest technologies at Asia’s leading international trade fair: Bauma China 2010. The company will launch the eagerly awaited EC200B Prime excavator, the DD118HF asphalt compactor and the ABG6820 paver. Volvo will also present its range of soft product support services and invite visitors to try out its excavator simulator at the company’s 1,320 metres stand, located outdoors at O. B50.
Futuristic scale models of the Sfinx excavator, the Gryphin wheel loader and the Centaur articulated hauler, will be exhibited at the Volvo stand alongside full versions of the Volvo EC460B Prime, EC140BLC and EC60C excavators, A40E articulated hauler, L180F and L220F wheel loaders, and the SD200 soil compactor.
The EC200B Prime excavator is a brand new machine, designed for general construction in segments like utility, building and road construction in the Chinese market. It is a custom-made Volvo solution for Chinese customers in the earth moving sector, particularly those working in urban areas. The new machine is an excellent tool to meet their demand on high productivity, fuel efficiency and optimum ownership cost.
Fitted with a high performance, low emission Volvo engine, the new model can develop peak torques at low rpm. The new machine features cutting edge load-sensing hydraulics, excellent attachment geometry and state-of-the-art electronics to ensure productivity at the lowest cost per ton. Combined with Volvo’s renowned fuel efficiency, the new EC200B Prime offers customers ‘more bangs for their buck’.
The industry leading Volvo 6820 paver is designed for customers who demand productivity in the road building segment. With its enhanced 9m paving width, the upgraded paver model is designed for paving all kinds of wearing, binder and base courses of large width and thickness.
The updated model offers Volvo’s latest Electronic Paving Management (EPM) system to ensure optimum paving, an electronically controlled travel drive for accuracy, all-round operator visibility and Volvo’s powerful, yet fuel efficient, engine.
The upgraded Volvo DD118HF asphalt compactor has a host of unique features, such as the patented impact spacing meter, which offers the operator a visual reference for speed control to maintain impact spacing and consistent smoothness. The machine also has an optional infrared pavement temperature sensor and a premium shock and vibration isolated ROPS/FOPS operator platform with a 5-position swivel console.
Combined with great all-round visibility, the SMART drum vibration starts the vibration process with the lead drum and follows it up with the rear drum to increase compaction efficiency. The unique variable water flow control conserves water and reduces fill-ups while ensuring that the drum surface is protected at all times with a 10-nozzle spray bar.
Volvo is committed to providing customers with a ‘total solution’. Therefore, alongside its products, Volvo will present a comprehensive range of services at its stand, including customer support agreements, parts, remarketing, display of undercarriage and Volvo Finance solutions to carry each machine through a long and productive life.
Volvo Penta - world leading supplier of industrial and marine diesel power, will also display two state-of-the art diesel engines at the Volvo stand.
