Simulator Operator Training is a flexible and convenient course, designed to increase safety and productivity, while minimising disruption to your daily operations. Using state-of-the-art Volvo machinery simulators, operators are able to experience real-life scenarios in a safe and enjoyable learning environment.
The simulators accurately replicate specific workplace conditions, meaning operators can train in scenarios most relevant to them and complete training at their own pace.
Simulator based training allows operators to develop their skills without creating risk to the trainer, site personnel or machinery. The result is a safe training environment and safer workplace when operators get back into real-world conditions.
Equipped with authentic controls, our simulators look and behave just like real machines. Operators get instant feedback and evaluation, helping them get the most out of the many intelligent functions of their Volvo.
Operators can train any time and any weather without needing to take a machine out of production, consume fuel or add wear and tear. Training also helps to reduce wear and tear out in the field, for increased machine lifetime.
Reduce emissions both during and after training. Simulators move just like real machines but without needing to consume any fuel. Training also makes operators more efficient when they get back behind the real-world controls.
Training is proven to increase job satisfaction, resulting in happier and more productive operators. A commitment to employee development also helps to attract and retain talented operators.
Simulator Operator Training is delivered through a combination of theory and practice – all supported by advanced machinery simulators. Designed with flexibility in mind, the course can be run either at a Volvo location, or at your own location.
Training starts in the classroom with theory-based topics, including:
Participants then get hands-on and put theory into action. The trainer will define a training program within the simulator, with customised exercises according to the operators' current level and learning objectives.
From the safety of the simulator, participants apply what they have learnt and work their way through specifically-assigned scenarios. In addition to giving instant feedback and guidance to operators, the simulator also provides data to the instructor, used to analyse performance.
Based on this data, the instructor provides tailor-made tips and tricks throughout the practical session, and can also advise on further improvement areas after the training.
Keep the progress going and turn training activity into long-term continuous improvement, with the support of a range of smart solutions available from your Volvo dealer.
