Advanced Operator Training, also known as EcoOperator Training, is an advanced course for already-experienced operators, with a primary focus on efficiency. The program helps operators be more productive, while reducing fuel consumption, machine wear and tear, and unplanned downtime – for a more profitable and environmentally caring operation.
With a greater awareness of their machinery and applications, operators can plan and perform their work more effectively, to do more with less, boosting efficiency and profitability.
With a good understanding of the many intelligent features and functions of their Volvo machines, operators can use their machinery to its full potential.
Training enables operators to continually refine their skills and operating practices, helping to lower the risk of incidents or accident.
Training helps to prevent unnecessary strain being put on the machine, minimising wear and tear – hence reducing costs.
Correct machine use keeps your machines in good condition and reduces the risk of unplanned downtime, while increasing machine lifetime and residual value.
Training is proven to increase job satisfaction, resulting in happier and more productive operators. A commitment to employee development also helps attract talented operators.
Money invested in operator development is money well spent. A skilled machine operator works faster and more efficiently – saving time and fuel. Suitable operator training will help boost your profitability, reducing both operating costs and environmental impact.
The EcoOperator Training program covers a broad range of areas where the operator can affect the outcome of your operation. The Volvo instructor works closely with operators to enhance their knowledge and give them the skills to deliver the best possible performance.
Data analysis
The instructor performs an initial machine data analysis, to identify opportunities for improvement.
Site visit
To gather more information and complete the assessment phase, a site visit is organised. This includes machine inspection as well as assessments of operating practices and site conditions.
Theory
Operators complete a theoretical training to gain in-depth knowledge of best practices, including both operating techniques and overall efficiency. Our instructors work with the latest training tools to deliver long-term sustained improvements.
Practice
Operators get “hands-on”, applying the techniques previously learned. This can be completed with ready-to-use practical exercises, or during the operator's daily work, coached by the instructor.
Follow up
A few months later, a new machine data analysis is performed. A summary of the results is provided along with recommendations for any further improvements.
To support the training program, as well as sustain the results achieved, your Volvo dealer can offer a range of smart solutions. Below are some examples.
