Top technicians showcase excellence at Volvo CE Region Asia's TECHXPERT 2025 dealer competition

Soogeun Nam (EXC), Sangjun Park (ART) from Volvo CE Korea (KSS) and Rico Rosal Salem jr. (WLO) from Civic Merchandising Inc - Philippines emerged victorious in this esteemed competition highlighting premier technical expertise within Volvo CE's Region Asia Dealer Network. These three product specialists prevailed against 96 contestants from 11 countries across the region, exhibiting remarkable proficiency in crucial areas including advanced hydraulic systems essential for operational efficiency and electric powertrain diagnostics that support Volvo CE's commitment to sustainable products.

Following the successful launch in 2023, TECHXPERT 2025 created a platform for dealer product specialists to showcase their technical prowess, inspire, collaborate and create lasting impact. The competition drew 96 participants from 11 countries across Region Asia, with 85 proceeding to the online theory round. The final stage featured 12 outstanding contestants representing their dealerships from South Korea, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia and Philippines.

TECHXPERT structure and highlights

The event comprised two distinct phases:

• Preliminary Stage: Conducted online between November 25 and December 6, 2024, featuring a comprehensive theoretical knowledge assessment process encompassing electrical, drive train, hydraulic systems, general product knowledge and technical expertise. Finalists were selected based on accuracy and swiftness in execution.
• Final Stage: Conducted at the Jinan Technology Centre in China from February 17 to 19, 2025, finalists addressed Five real-world practical challenges covering troubleshooting, failure reporting, genuine Volvo CE parts recommendations, component inspection and real time remote technical support. Participants contested in one of the three Volvo CE product platforms: Articulated Haulers, Wheel Loaders and Excavators.
