Volvo CE showcases sustainability and innovation in Taiwan: ECR25 Electric Excavator shines at dual events

Volvo Construction Equipment (Volvo CE) recently reaffirmed its commitment to sustainability and community engagement with two high-profile events in Taiwan. The company’s groundbreaking ECR25 Electric Excavator took center stage at the VKC Family Day in Hualien and the Taiwan Yunlin International Agricultural Machinery Expo.
The VKC Family Day hosted by Taikoo Motors

The Volvo King Club (VKC) Family Day, hosted by Taikoo Motors in the picturesque town of Fuli, celebrated customer loyalty and supported local recovery efforts in the aftermath of Hualien’s recent earthquake. The event was a heartfelt gesture of solidarity with the community, blending gratitude with a focus on sustainability.

Attendees were treated to a firsthand look at the ECR25 Electric Excavator, Volvo CE’s state-of-the-art compact, zero-emissions machine. Powered by a lithium-ion battery and designed for efficiency and reduced environmental impact, the ECR25 Electric represents a significant leap in sustainable construction.

This innovative excavator features an operating weight of approximately 2.5 tons, a runtime of up to four hours on a single charge, and near-silent operation, making it ideal for urban construction, landscaping, and sensitive environments. By integrating cutting-edge electric machinery with Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles, Volvo CE reinforced its commitment to building a better, more sustainable future.

A groundbreaking debut in Yunlin

In addition, Volvo CE and its Taiwan dealer, Taikoo Motors, unveiled the ECR25 Electric Excavator at the Taiwan Yunlin International Agricultural Machinery Expo. This marked the machine’s official debut in Taiwan and highlighted its potential to revolutionise its construction and agricultural sectors.

The expo showcased the ECR25’s eco-friendly features, including zero emissions, silent operation, and minimal energy consumption in standby mode. Visitors experienced live demonstrations, which emphasised the machine’s smooth, quiet performance and its innovative DC fast charging system, designed to reduce downtime.

Both events underscored the company’s dedication to supporting communities, driving the adoption of green technologies, and paving the way for a cleaner, more efficient construction industry in Taiwan and beyond.

In the past couple of years, the company’s growing range of battery-powered machines have captured the industry’s attention as they find their way onto projects across Asia including in South Korea, Japan, Singapore, Indonesia, and Taiwan.

Jing Peng Peh, Head of Mkt Philippines, Taiwan, Brunei, Volvo Construction Equipment, said:

“Volvo CE’s vision for the future goes beyond manufacturing exceptional machinery—we are dedicated to building sustainable communities and driving meaningful change. The ECR25 Electric Excavator is a shining example of our commitment to delivering solutions that combine environmental responsibility with superior performance. Through events like these, we aim to connect with our customers and communities to inspire a shared journey toward a greener future.”
