Volvo CE launches campaign to promote the circular economy

In Region Asia, Volvo Construction Equipment has launched its 2024 Circularity Campaign. It aims to proactively promote the company’s sustainability goals by enhancing the use of remanufactured parts and increasing understanding of circularity among a wider audience.

Running from May to December 2024, the 2024 Region Asia Circularity Campaign captures the spirit of what circularity means to Volvo CE and how the company is turning this concept into reality to shape a greener tomorrow.

Circularity Through Reman Campaign

As part of the campaign, Volvo CE’s Region Asia dealer network launched the Circularity Through Reman Campaign which encourages dealers to promote Volvo Reman Parts in place of new parts, to help reduce environmental impact. Volvo Reman provides a sustainable way to extend the lifespan of Volvo CE machinery by offering remanufactured parts that are restored to like-new conditions. By reusing up to 85% of original materials and requiring 80% less energy compared to new manufacturing, Volvo Reman significantly reduces CO2 emissions, benefiting both the environment and customers. This eco-cycle provides customers with a competitive advantage and peace of mind through cost-effective, reliable components, yet with no loss in performance compared to using new parts. During the campaign period, acceptance criteria for core key components will become less stringent. Dealers in Region Asia will be able to return these core components to the core hub in Singapore, making it more convenient and cost-effective.

The Circularity Through Reman Campaign ties in with the Region Asia Dealer Services Excellence Program (D-SERVE), which was first launched in 2021. D-SERVE is designed to give higher recognition to good operational performance, including encouraging dealers to put more resources into sustainability.

Renew Art Campaign

In addition to focusing on Volvo CE’s Region Asia dealer network, the campaign also includes a Renew Art Campaign for company employees. This initiative encourages the creation of art using recycled materials to promote sustainability and creativity. Employees can work individually, as a team, or with family and friends to create the art using materials such as recycled paper, plastic bottles, bags, used clothes or other similar items. Submissions are open from August to November, and the top 10 artworks will be selected through employee voting. The winning artworks will be announced in November and showcased in December at a Region Asia Townhall meeting.
