Volvo CE’s emphasis on meeting and spending time with local customers led to the company delivering a highly successful roadshow in Malaysia. Held at the Volvo office in Penang, the event attracted valued customers, and seven business partners arrive from across the country to enjoy some quality time with a selection of Southeast Asia’s most popular construction machinery. On display were three hydraulic excavators – the EC550EL, EC480DL and EC140DL – and the latest version of the SD110 soil compactor, along with a quick coupler and a breaker.

The attendees saw the machines put through their paces during live demonstrations and had the opportunity to speak with product specialists and enjoy a series of presentations on the benefits Volvo CE’s construction equipment offers to local businesses. In total seven machine orders were confirmed during the event from three different customers: AAY Construction Sdn. Bhd. which ordered four EC550EL units; TCT Success Sdn. Bhd. which acquired an EC480DL unit; and Sempurna Akuatik which purchased an EC220DL plus a used EC350DL. As well as confirmed orders, Volvo CE also received enquiries for a large number of potential future orders, including EC550EL, EC200D, SD110 and EC350DL models.

The program also included a spare parts promotion, highlighting the benefits of using Genuine Volvo Repair Parts to extend uptime and efficiency while providing higher residual values when the time arrives for machines to be sold. Guests also received information on purchasing refurbished parts under the Volvo Reman program, which offer the same high quality and extended warranty as their new counterparts, but with significant cost and environmental advantages. In total parts orders for over RM100,000 were received during the event.

“We thoroughly enjoyed our closer engagement at the roadshow with local customers, all of whom were extremely impressed by our machines. It’s always great to receive orders for our machines, but we were especially pleased to see strong demand for our Genuine Volvo Repair Parts, as it makes such a difference for customers using these,” said Wee Kim Wei, Head of Market, Malaysia, Volvo CE. “The roadshow clearly highlighted the value of building stronger and more sustainable customer relationships.”
