The final rounds of the inaugural Asian TECHXPERT event wrapped up last month. TECHXPERT is a unique event, with a competitive edge, designed to emphasise the superior technical capabilities of Volvo CE dealers. For the first ever Asian edition of the contest, finalists gathered for a thrilling two-day showpiece, which took place during February in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. At the end of the finals, the top three contenders were recognized with awards for their exceptional skills and knowledge, presented at a celebratory closing ceremony.
Aside from recognizing the very best technicians at dealers, the TECHXPERT competition was designed to develop the competence and skills that keep uptime at a maximum. With 100% participation encouraged, product specialists from dealers competed against each other over four months through several rounds of tests encompassing technical troubleshooting and practical challenges. Over fifty participants from ten Volvo CE Region Asia dealers took part in this inaugural event and top 12 participants from eight dealers were selected through an extensive theoretical challenge designed by Region Asia Product Support team to compete in the finals. The eventual top three winners were: Kittipich Poomfakta, Italthai Industrial Co; Vu Dinh Khue, T&C Machinery and Parts, and Foo Qing Wei, Volvo CE Singapore.
Gerard Lim, Head of Uptime and Parts, Region Asia said: “Congratulations to our winners, and a big thank you to all participants for their efforts. We are thrilled with the resounding success of the first TECHXPERT competition in Region Asia, with impressive performances from all our dealer specialists. This event further boosted our reputation, and we look forward to an even stronger event during next edition”
