Volvo Green Support Program to drive new levels of fuel efficiency in Southeast Asia construction

Launched January 1, 2022, the program challenges and motivates Volvo 20 t excavator customers in Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia to establish operational best practice, achieve the ultimate fuel economy from their machines and reach the lowest cost of operation.

The Volvo EC200D and EC210D crawler excavators are already highly regarded in Southeast Asian markets for having the industry’s best fuel economy and fuel efficiency in the 20 t class. Now Volvo Construction Equipment (Volvo CE) is partnering with customers in a new program to help them unlock the full fuel-saving potential of their machines for a sustainable long-term relationship.

Eligible for customers of new EC200D and EC210D excavators invoiced between January 1 and December 31, 2022, the Green Support Program helps customers to limit use of the fuel-hungry higher work modes, which do not necessarily result in higher productivity.

“There is a common misconception among operators that increased power equals increased productivity all the time, so we would like to help customers establish best practices where operators match their work modes to the demands of the task for optimum fuel economy,” said Joseph Low, Product Manager at Volvo CE Region Asia.

“Minimizing unnecessary fuel consumption is vital for the sake of our environment – but also the customers’ bottom line. Fuel is typically the single highest contributor to operating cost, often accounting for 30-40%. Through the Green Support Program, we can help them reduce this,” he continued.

Free credit to spend in the aftermarket

Volvo will monitor machine data for fuel consumption and if operators reach the target, the customer will receive aftermarket credit to spend on parts and services.

“The Green Support Program is a win-win for all stakeholders,” Low concluded. “Customers reduce fuel costs and save money on parts and services, while we all ensure a lower carbon footprint for a better tomorrow.”
